now i'm wondering why reapers are allowed to remember anything at all.... y'know, for two people who've never seen dlm i bet we're hitting really close to the answer. makes sense that it would be spoken-memory to related-person - it's a failsafe to keep reapers from going back to their old lives, on the off-chance they slip up and go chasing down former lovers. (for example....)
