Yeah- I'm thinking it's memory-aloud to shared person/connection to that memory- which would tie-in with the Reaper's NOT being allowed to re-connect with the people with whom they shared their liviing-lives. By saying aloud TO Brian "I love when..."- would expose Brian to the fact that 'Sean' is Justin-- so the 'popping' could have 2 purposes- ensuring a Reaper can't expose his identity to the people he was connected to IN life? & further dis-connecting them from the lives they led? all theorizing by me- who knows nothing about DLM-except what wrenlet has shown/told us here.
