I had heard of Reaper!Justin many times but never found it anywhere. I stumbled onto this story this afternoon (while I was at work...don't tell my boss) and read it straight through. I've never seen DLM, but I will now be looking for some episodes to download.
This is one of a very few fics in which I cried literally from start to finish. I think I used up about half a box of Kleenex. :o) Excellent Justin characterization, even in a completely unique situation, and wonderful job portraying Brian's grief. I've always though Justin's death would be impossible for Brian to recover from...Justin might be able to survive Brian's death, but Brian could never survive Justin's. Your expression of his grief as it developed, following the stages most people go through yet at such a more intense level just broke me. Excellent story.
