I just read this story. I had heard about it a while back, but didn't read it right right off because I've never seen DLM, and I'm usually hesitant about crossover/AU stuff anyway. Yesterday was a 14-hour car trip to visit family, and so I downloaded a bunch of stories to my lap top to read on the drive, including part of this one. I'd heard such good things about it, I thought I should give it a try, despite my qualms about AU stuff.
I can't even begin to tell you how *glad* I am that I did. This was such a wonderful and beautiful story. I had to stay up late last night once I was back w/ an internet connection to finish this since I'd only copied part of it (and I was worn out from the drive, so that tells you how much I was enjoying it!). You are a fabulous writer, and this piece was so well done. I am still reeling from the ending, which I reread today, so I'm unable to write coherent feedback at the moment (what a beautiful ending!!), but I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this. Congrats on writing and finishing such a lovely story. :)
