I thought it was inevitable, unrelated to Brian, and that Reapers just gradually lost their memories.

Gah, that would be so... *shivers* There are lots of reapers. Which would mean lots of people walking around who wouldn't be... complete people, just sort of half-people, facades. And then they go around taking souls and... I swear, horror movies have been written on lots less. (And plus, in cases like Justin's they could just take him somewhere until he didn't remember enough to want to go back. Which is also creepy. I can't decide which of all the possibilities creeps me out more.)
